The Impromptu Session

We took a vacation to Oklahoma at the beginning of July, and on our way to Tulsa we stopped in OKC to eat lunch with my very dear friend and her family. My friend and I have known each other since about 3rd grade, maybe late 2nd grade. Stayed close all the way through high school, even though we were at different schools, and lost touch sometime during college. WELL. Thank you God for facebook!!! We found each other again, to my great joy, and then I got to see her! YAY! Her family is gorgeous and so super sweet. It was an amazing afternoon together!

I *had* to bring my camera inside, because of course if it stayed in the van it would get too hot. Right? So I asked the girls if they would let me take their pictures. They said yes. : )

Little Missy and I had a deal. A pretty face for me, ...
...then a silly face for her! We had FUN!
Sweet sisters.

I think she maybe thought I was a little crazy when I told her no, don't look at me--look at the mirror. But it worked!
And this handsome little sweetheart was waaaay too busy for the camera, as every good one year old should be. But I got him anyway. ; )
And big sister helped get the smile!!!
All of our kids together. A lot has changed since we were 18!
This picture gets me every. single. time. This is my oldest daughter and my friend's oldest daughter, who are the same age as each other, and also just about the same age their mommies were when they first met and became friends. My mother would have loved to have seen this.

Thank you again sweet friends for having us over and for spending your afternoon with us! I hope we see each other again SOON!

Handsome Baby Nephew, 6 months old

If I were truly going in reverse I'd post his 7 month pictures first. But I came across the 6 month pics first, so 6 months it is!

We just barely got him into the bucket--he was nearly too big!

This next picture just makes me laugh and laugh. What you can't see is that 1) he does have a diaper on, and 2) his mama had just dropped a flower in his lap to distract him. The result was not what either of us had anticipated, but it sure is funny!

Sweet, happy baby boy!!!

Catching up in Reverse-- A & T, 7 & 8 years old

Yesterday evening, I took my just-turned-7 year old son and my just-turned-8 year old nephew out to take their 'birthday' pictures. These two have been best buddies for a while now, and have celebrated their past 2 birthdays together (they are a year and five days apart, so joint parties are fun for them and very nice for mommies...!). I thought taking them out for pictures together was fitting. We had some serious fun, found some serious dirt, and then because they were so good I got them an ice cream cone, which they seriously enjoyed!!! ; )

My son's nickname is Dirt Magnet...I'll bet you can't guess which one he is or why that's his nickname...LOL
