My sister's family

We had my sister's family's annual session the week of Thanksgiving. I was trying to remember the first year we started this, and I think it was 2005. Landa Park, New Braunfels. In fact....

A-ha! I rounded up all their family pictures from the past five years for you to see. Thanksgiving Week, every year except last year because we had to wait for my baby nephew to be born in December. How amazing to have a record of how your family changes and grows each year--EVERYONE should do this!

2005, Landa Park
2006, neat little place I found by accident in San Antonio
2007, Oak Hills Church
2008, San Jose Mission
2009, Selma Stage Stop
2010, Gruene, Tx

And here are a few from their session this year. She has a specific frame she wants to fill, so we did the kids' pictures:

My favorite family picture:

Their favorite family picture:

And the Christmas card I designed for them (another thing that kept me busy and away from the blog--designing cards! SO FUN!):

I'll be back soon to share my Christmas card with you! Hope you're enjoying the holiday season!

The C Family

I seriously love my job. I get to meet the nicest people, spend a very pleasant afternoon doing my favorite thing, and then have the joy of sharing images that make mothers very, very happy (which makes me happy!). Last Friday's family was no exception!

Thank you C family for a wonderful evening!

Time to catch up again!

I've been a busy girl, doing lots of editing for my awesome clients! I love this time of year, and there's still more to come (including trying to get a picture of my own kids--wish me luck!).

I'm behind on the blog because one week ago today, my sweet Boxer died unexpectedly in her sleep. She would have been 6 years old in January--we shared a birthday. I still can't believe she's gone and am missing her terribly.

Love you Lia.
Thankfully, I've had some good distractions while my heart heals.

The S fam--our very good friends. Really that's "my" baby, I'm just letting her hold him for the picture. ; ) Okay not really. But I'd keep him!
Brothers. Lots and lots of brothers.
3 month old sweetness.
3 month old sweetness wearing his daddy's hat that daddy's grandmother made. awww.
Photoshop and I are getting along REALLY well these days. Behold, the Before:
and After. (I'm pretty pleased with myself--this is tough to do!)
Another friend of mine needed some models for her Etsy shop (turkeys are done for the season, but her Christmas items are posted, and she'll soon have more cuties modeling them on her page!)
Handsome baby nephew turned ELEVEN months old! No way!
And I had a refreshing (and hilarious) session with two grown-ups. No children. As much as I love love love photographing children, it is such a treat to have a session without any, LOL.

So. There's the last two weeks in a nutshell--three more sessions coming in the next week, but one is my kiddos and will be a surprise at Christmas. : ) I've also rented a new camera body for next week! That'll be fun to play with. How awesome to get to check out equipment before you decide what to buy. I love that.

It's not too late for family pictures for the holidays, but get in touch with me soon!
Have a great weekend!

She was not happy.

The light was perfect. The mood struck. I quickly selected the most likely child to cooperate.

She was not happy.
But I worked my mommy magic.
And she came around.
She tried to resist, but mommy magic is powerful.
Resistance is futile. ; )

The J Fam

My husband and Mr. J grew up together, so we have a loooonnng history with this family! I've known these girls since they were born. They were my guinea pigs when I was figuring out this whole photography thing. We've celebrated countless birthdays together, and watched our babies playing and growing with each other, so spending yesterday evening with them was a complete pleasure!

The L Family

Last Saturday I had TWO incredible sessions, one in New Braunfels in the morning, and one at the Japanese Tea Garden (down by the zoo) in the evening. How lucky can a girl get? I met the very sweet L family for the first time, crawled around in the dirt with handsome Mr. G (who recently turned 1, and was a little surprised to see me in the dirt with him), and had a very enjoyable evening getting some great images!
